List of Popular Luo Men Married to Kikuyu ladies

There are several theories explaining why Luo men marry Kikuyu women but none of them has come up with a concrete answer. It’s known several prominent Luos are married to Kikuyu women and they love them.

Babu Owino

Babu Owino is the Member of Parliament for Embakasi East. The youthful politician is married to a Kikuyu lady known as Fridah and he loves her so much.

Owino met Fridah at the University of Nairobi,he loved her and later proposed.They are now living together as wife and husband and have a child

LATE FIDEL ODINGA

The late Fidel Odinga once married a Kikuyu lady by the name Veronicah Nganga,but he later divorced her due to what he called “irreconcilable differences” which later turned out to be his infidelity. Their dramatic divorce process was widely publicized through an ugly court battle and this tainted Fidel’s image.Fidel later married an Eritrean, who was prominently featured during his funeral.Here is the photo of Veronicah Nganga

JAMES ORENGO

James Orengo is the Siaya Senator and one of the many Luos who are married to ladies from the GEMA community.Orengo’s wife is Betty Murungi, a prominent city lawyer.

You will rarely spot Orengo speak ill of the Kikuyu,it’s because ne from GEMA is in his house.

RAILA ODINGA JUNIOR

Raila Odinga’s son Raila Odinga Jr is married to Yvonne Wambui Kibukosya who is the daughter to famous parents Gido Kibukosya and Suzanne Kibukosya(now Suzanne Gachukia)

The son of Raila did a colourful wedding years ago,which was attended by President Kenyatta.
