Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen on Tuesday sensationally claimed that NASA leader Raila Odinga has printed fake ballot papers, forms34A, and forms34B.
The Senate Majority Leader was accompanied by Kericho senator Aaron Cheruyiot and Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichungw'a.
He said at Parliament Buildings that Raila's decision to withdraw from the race was meant to discredit and malign participating candidates.
The legislator called on the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission chairman Wafula Chebukati to take a stance on the Thursday election.
"To complete this illegitimate and malignant scheme, Odinga has invested in printing fake pre-marked ballots."
"These are meant to support his hopeless claims of rigging. Because his withdrawal had no effect," Murkomen said in a press conference.
He pointed out that Raila and the NASA fraternity has resorted to violence, lies, and demonstrations after failing to frustrate or stop the repeat election.
"As a perennial political loser, he is familiar with the feeling. It is causing him to lose his mind. He is in a state of panic and delusion," the legislator said.
He called on Raila to stop claiming that his "victory results are in the IEBC server".
"We know about the scheme to be peddling fake ballots and other criminal enterprises perpetrated by Odinga and the evil cartels helping him. They will not succeed."
"They will be exposed, they will be defeated," Murkomen said adding that some civil societies allied to the Opposition are using courts to stop the election.
The Supreme Court, in a majority decision on September 1, annulled President Uhuru Kenyatta's win in the August 8 election and demanded fresh polls within 60 days.Raila is expected to address the country on Wednesday on his next move after withdrawing from the October election. Raila told BBC that he has not asked his supporters to demonstrate during election day.
This was contrary to calls by Siaya Senator James Orengo and NASA CEO Norman Magaya who insisted the demonstrations will go on.
On their part, Cheruyiot and Ichungw’a told off NASA saying they are confident Uhuru will win in the repeat election.
The sentiments followed after Raila also claimed that Jubilee Party has already printed fake ballot papers at Industrial Area.
The NASA leader said they have reliable information that the ballot papers were to be stuffed in ballot boxes during the elections.
He cited photographic evidence of Jubilee Secretary General Raphael Tuju and chief agent Davis Chirchir entering the godown.
"If you go there right now, you will find the papers. What they wanted to do is fill them and stuff them in ballot boxes and say these are the votes."
"That is one of the reasons we withdrew. These are thieves and we cannot go to an election whose outcome is already known," he said in an interview with Radio Jambo on Wednesday last week.
