Raila Odinga's move to transform NASA into a national resistance movement is a recipe for chaos, jubilee leaders have said.
The Opposition leader announced the move on Wednesday and said he will work with the people to protect the constitution.
Raila's address included a reiteration of the boycott threat and he noted there are many ways to kill a cat.
He said the people should take instructions to boycott newspapers, TV stations, products and services in their bid for change in Kenya.
But Mwingi and Migwani Jubilee leaders criticised the decision during the rerun on Thursday after voting at Migwani AIC Primary School.
"Our country needs peace during and after the election. The movement is aimed at economic sabotage and destroying gains," said former Kitui Senator David Musila
Noting the political situation is volatile, Musila urged Kenyans of goodwill to exercise tolerance and embrace peace.
The politician, who cast his vote alongside his wife Beatrice, said despite the low voter turnout, the electorate are behind the re-election of President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Mwende Mwinzi, Jubilee Party's chief agent in Mwingi West constituency, said Raila has ruined his political career.
"His pronouncement does not augur well with the nation's future. The electorate is fatigued. We have to swear-in Uhuru and move the country forward."
She said voter numbers would increase towards the end of the day.
Mwingi is a NASA stronghold and voter apathy cannot be ruled out following the low numbers. Raila asked his supporters to boycott the election as part of their push for reforms at IEBC.
Uasin Gishu Govenour Jackson Mandago has also criticised Raila, saying his remarks on a resistance were uncalled for and an act of desperation.
Speaking to the press at Limyamoi Primary School in Eldoret in Soy constituency on Thursday, Mandago said the NASA leader wants to plunge the country into chaos.
He said resistance means "you want to go to the forest and form a rebellious group" and added "such behaviour paints the country in bad light".
''The only people who fought from the forest are our forefathers, who were fighting for independence. This one by NASA is ill-motivated," said the county boss who was with his wife Lucy.
Mandago urged his people to vote in large numbers for either NASA or Jubilee Party, noting it is their democratic right.
He said those who refuse to vote end up with bad leaders and assured security and free and fair electoral processes.
